It&#8217;s because I didn\u2019t know what information needed to be within a landing page. At which point I turned to my loyal companion, Google, to find out what the difference was between a Homepage and a Landing Page.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sure enough, I found quite a few articles on Google but there was one on <a href=\"https:\/\/unbounce.com\/landing-page-articles\/what-is-a-landing-page\/\">Unbounce<\/a> that really caught my eye. It clearly highlighted the reasons why a landing page varied from a homepage, a difference that most people, like myself (as well as clients) don\u2019t quite understand. \u00a0So what is the difference between the two?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/wH4rY2nPnEnp6\/giphy.gif\" width=\"232\" height=\"278\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A landing page is a web page that is created with a specific goal\/campaign in mind. It doesn\u2019t bombard users with all the details of a brand, but just a few key components and a link or two that would highlight particular products or services a business offers. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A homepage, on the other hand, is the main gateway to a business as a whole where a user can click on different links to view a variety of products or services that are being sold.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.candyboxmarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-05-10-at-10.55.46-AM.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7566\" src=\"https:\/\/spcdn.shortpixel.ai\/spio\/ret_img,q_cdnize,to_webp,s_webp\/www.candyboxmarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-05-10-at-10.55.46-AM-252x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"215\" height=\"256\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.candyboxmarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-05-10-at-10.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7567\" src=\"https:\/\/spcdn.shortpixel.ai\/spio\/ret_img,q_cdnize,to_webp,s_webp\/www.candyboxmarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-05-10-at-10-227x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"263\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most business owners find it hard to absorb, that less is more; but in the case of landing pages, less IS more.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let&#8217;s take the above examples of the two. Above we can see a landing page (on the left) has 1 link whereas a homepage (on the right) has 19 links. Focusing on one product\/service that would result in the most conversions for a business is what a landing page does best. It keeps users from getting distracted and focuses their attention on engaging with your business by using:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tidy visuals <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Effective headline<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clear call to action<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Highlighting important attributes of your offered product\/service<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s quite simple isn\u2019t it?
