We are looking for an experienced, creative, and skilled Creative Director with a passion for digital marketing to join our dynamic team!
Candybox is driven to find the next big thing, and we’re seeking a new Creative Director to help us in that mission. Leading a team of thinkers and doers, the Creative Director will bring a mix of marketing expertise and business acumen to the role, promoting our Agency and those of our valued clients.
We’re looking for a Creative Director who is an experienced manager of people and someone who can inspire others while taking our creative output to a new level as we continue to grow. The ideal candidate will have a natural eye for design and be a prolific generator of dynamic ideas that connect with all types of audiences.

This is a full-time position for candidates located within drive time of our Studio in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

responsibilities
- Drive our Pathway To Growth Creative Process, managing the creative process from concept to completion
- Lead and review the work of the creative teams for all web, bran, design and digital marketing collateral
- Manage and cultivate the career development of team members, including designers, art directors, copywriters, photographers and web developers
- Approve and deliver against internal creative briefs, translating marketing objectives into clear creative strategies
- Conduct brainstorming sessions with creative team, maintaining strategic thinking to develop innovative and actionable initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner
- Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, including Branding, Web Production, Campaigns, Video, Photography, Social and Content
- Spearhead and manage content strategy for both small and large projects, harnessing brand design, copy, art, and digital technology
- Develop internal marketing campaigns that translate objectives across business units into clear and motivating creative strategies
- Review and approve creative and copy developed by the team, ensuring that deliverables address marketing goals and challenges effectively
- Work with clients in a variety of industries
- Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling digital experiences for sophisticated audiences
- Oversee client pitches, presentation of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables
- Meet budget requirements by forecasting and managing expenses
- Supervise a cross-functional team of graphic designers, copywriters, social-media experts, photographers/videographers, and project managers in the strategic development of messaging and deliverables
- Prioritize work and resources across engagements, based on short- and long-term needs, and develop schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and production artists
- Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative teams
- Remain actively involved in hiring and training creative staff
- Participate in the evaluation process of employee performance
- Hold team members responsible and accountable for their role expectations within the company and promptly confront and effectively deal with behavioural and/or performance issues
- Maintain up to date project management + time tracking softwares as per department process requirements
requirements for the role
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada
- 10+ years of experience in a creative leadership role, creating marketing/advertising campaigns — from developing the vision and messaging platform to overseeing production on time and within budget
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in advertising, marketing, design or related field
- Experience as a copywriter, graphic designer, or production artist
- Experience in project management, with a focus on creative direction
- Experience in creating integrated content across all marketing channels: digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful creative campaigns across various media channels
- Proficiency in leading and inspiring a team of diverse, talented creatives
- Strong creative vision, with an eye on business objectives
- Exceptional executive presence, business acumen and presentation skills.
- Budgeting and/or financial focused mindset helpful.
