Facebook Page Upgrade – Again
Facebook has made a major interface change with Facebook Pages this morning which has added some cool new features for page owners, as well as some layout changes for users. If we designed your Facebook Page, there are no issues with any of your Landing Page designs (we have checked).
If you are an administrator on a Page, simply login to Facebook, go to your Page, and the site will walk you through all of the changes. It will also give you an opportunity to upgrade your page so that you can customize it before it goes live.
Here’s a quick snapshot of what’s new:
- ‘Login as Page‘ feature allows you to act as the Page on Facebook; making comments on other pages as the company.
- The top navigation has moved to the left side, keeping consistant with the Facebook experience
- New images profiling on the top of the page (you may want to change these before upgrading)
- New section that can feature Admin’s of the page
- Email notifications on posts / user interactions
As shown in the screenshot above, we loaded up a bunch of customer logos to show in the top image profiles. Facebook automatically loads your last 5 images into this area, so it is important to change them before it goes live.
Here are some tips on how to make the best of the upgrades:
- Use the feature image section to display a message to users on the wall.
- Profile some of the authors on the Page to give a human face behind the page.
- Setup your email notifications to receive emails on all news posts. This will make it easier to respond to your active fans!
- Click the ‘Use Facebook as …’ button on the right and go around posting on walls, profiles & like other pages. This will build your exposure as a brand beyond your fans page.
